Anushka’s next release with Akshay Kumar - Patiala House

Even as Anushka Sharma is gearing up for her YRF production Band Baaja Baaraat, which releases this Friday, 10th December, rumours are being floated of her association with Eros entertainments Desi Boyz. Directed by David Dhawan’s elder son Rohit, Desi Boyz shooting had begun in Mumbai in early November. Starring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Anupam Kher and Chitrangda Singh, Desi Boyz is a romantic comedy slated for a mid-2011 release.

During pre-production of the film earlier this year, Anushka’s name as one of the leading ladies was brought up on multiple occasions. When the Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi star was asked to confirm the project, she didn’t provide a clear clarification, saying that she didn’t speak about her films till officially signed. These rumours cleared away by the final announcement and subsequent shoot commencement in November.

However, recently the buzz started doing rounds once again. But this time when probed about it, the actress denied the rumors and confirmed that she is not a part of the film.

“No I am not starring in Desi Boyz and I don’t want to comment on anything further,” stated the actress. After Band Baaja Baarat, Anushka’s next release will be Patiala House in February 2011 co-starring Akshay Kumar.
